was gambled on 6 weeks after making an eye-catching debut for the yard and duly produced a career best, taking the race apart in the latter stages; mid-division, headway on bridle after 4 out, led between last 2, cruised clear; clearly well ahead of his mark and open to further improvement, especially back at around 3m, one to keep on the right side even after an inevitable hike in the weights.

is much lower in the weights in this sphere, and ran well just 8 days after chasing home Polidam and Acapella Bourgeois over fences here, again unlucky to bump into a rival well ahead of his mark; waited with, steady headway after 4 out, third when edged right between last 2, kept on, no match for impressive winner.

This looked a competitive handicap beforehand but the betting spoke volumes, the heavily-supported Diamond Cauchois simply demolishing the opposition after having travelled smoothly in mid-field in a soundly-run race.

DIAMOND CAUCHOIS (FR) was gambled on 6 weeks after making an eye-catching debut for the yard and duly produced a career best, taking the race apart in the latter stages; mid-division, headway on bridle after 4 out, led between last 2, cruised clear; clearly well ahead of his mark and open to further improvement, especially back at around 3m, one to keep on the right side even after an inevitable hike in the weights.

GRAND PARTNER (IRE) ran better than for a while; held up, some headway after 4 out, fourth when not fluent last, plugged on.

CHARLIE STOUT (IRE) back up in trip, continues in good heart; handy, travelled better than most, led briefly 2 out, faded run-in.

DRUMACOO (IRE) was alarmingly weak in the market back with former yard without the hood worn in 3 starts over fences for Ben Pauling, and shaped as if better for the run after 12 months off; held up, headway early in straight, ridden after 2 out, held when untidy last.
