back up in trip, showed improved form to follow up last month's Punchestown maiden success, albeit under fortunate circumstances, responding to pressure but seemingly coming off second best with Black Hercules when handed the race by that rival's departure at the final fence; waited with, headway after 4 out, close up when untidy 3 out, ridden from next, keeping on when left clear last, kept up to work; already a better chaser than he was a hurdler, he looks open to further improvement in this sphere.

ran well upped in grade, having no issues with the longer trip and just beaten by one better suited to the test this race provided, it worth remembering his best effort over hurdles came in a large-field handicap at Cheltenham under less testing conditions; chased leaders, travelled fluently, challenged approaching 2 out, held when left second last, one paced; remains with potential.

failed to progress from chasing debut, his enthusiastic nature leaving him vulnerable at the finish in what was a deeper race; led, went with enthusiasm, joined 3 out, headed next, weakened between last 2, held when left in a place last; still early days, he remains with potential as a chaser, with the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival reportedly under consideration.

ran below form and hasn't really gone on as expected over fences, albeit having been set some fairly stiff tasks; prominent, ridden entering straight, weakened between 3 out and 2 out; will benefit from a return to calmer waters in the short term.

strong in betting, lost his unbeaten record over fences in unfortunate fashion, still going well in front and looking to have the measure of the eventual winner when coming to grief at the final fence; close up, tanked along, led briefly sixth, jumped on 2 out, yet to be asked for effort when fell last (jumped well otherwise); this was one that got away, but he remains an exciting chasing prospect and will take plenty of beating wherever he goes next.

ran no sort of race after 11 weeks off, the testing conditions a plausible excuse if not a convincing one; soon steadied, dropped to rear around halfway and lost touch approaching straight, tailed off when pulled up before last.

An up-to-scratch renewal, all 6 runners having already shown at least useful form over fences, though in the end it proved somewhat anticlimactic, the odds-on favourite Black Hercules a length up and looking the most likely winner when coming to grief at the final fence, leaving the way clear for the improving Measureofmydreams to register his first graded success.
