maintained his unbeaten record for the year in this deeper contest, never seemingly travelling as well as his main rivals but keeping on best of all; awkward leaving stalls, in touch, driven from 3f out, stayed on to lead inside final 1f, edged right final 100 yds, held on gamely; didn't have as much in hand as for recent wins but leaves the feeling there is even more to come, sure to put up a good fight wherever he goes in chase of a 6-timer.

a typical hardy Mark Johnston runner, appears not to know how to run a bad race, proving the long-held belief here that 2m is right up his street, losing out only to one very much on a roll; chased leader, challenged from 2f out, led briefly 1f out, stuck to task; a credit to connections, there are wins in him at this trip.

has matured throughout the year, and ran respectably under a penalty; led, went with enthusiasm, ridden when edged left over 1f out, headed soon after, no extra inside final 1f; will run off 1 lb lower than this when next seen, and will continue to give a good account, likely to find a weaker contest than this.

didn't get home over this markedly longer trip, but was in the fight for long enough to suggest she remains in good heart; chased leader, challenged 2f out, weakened final 1f; worth a try at around 1¾m, she may do better still.

All 5 ran. Race Distance Adjustment: +7 yds

Time: 3m 29.21s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 37.50s (104.7%)

A 0-100 in name but only the runner-up ran off a mark over 85, not that it didn't make for a good-quality contest, the front quartet all holding some sort of chance approaching the final 1f, Timoshenko getting up to maintain his unbeaten run, the 3rd and 4th far from disgraced in having their's ended.

TIMOSHENKO maintained his unbeaten record for the year in this deeper contest, never seemingly travelling as well as his main rivals but keeping on best of all; awkward leaving stalls, in touch, driven from 3f out, stayed on to lead inside final 1f, edged right final 100 yds, held on gamely; didn't have as much in hand as for recent wins but leaves the feeling there is even more to come, sure to put up a good fight wherever he goes in chase of a 6-timer.
