is clearly very well suited to testing conditions (previous turf win also came on heavy), but needs crediting with a chunk of improvement all the same given how far clear he pulled; prominent, pushed along over 2f out, led under 2f out, wandered around soon after but forged clear final 1f; challenge now is to back up this improvement on a sounder surface, whilst he will get hit hard to by the handicapper.

making turf debut, ran well after 6 weeks off, shaping better than the distance beaten suggests as well, the only one of the hold-up contingent to make any impression; in rear, ridden early in straight, kept on strongly, never nearer; this opens up more options regarding trip and he may have more to offer, this just his fifth start after all.

cut little ice in strong company after successful debut at 2 yrs, but got right back on track making handicap debut after 7 months off, running as well as he's ever done; led, ridden under 3f out, headed under 2f out, kept on; worth a try at 7f on this evidence.

after 6 months off, was all the rage in the market having been handed a lenient-looking opening mark, also proven under these conditions, but proved to be a disappointment, tracking the pace and making his effort 3f out, but raising his head when pressure was applied and fading.

back on turf, seemed unsuited by conditions, better judged on previous form (finished much closer to Book of Dreams last time); bumped start, mid-division, headway home turn, ridden over 3f out, no extra over 1f out.

Early-season form to treat with caution, plenty of these struggling in the conditions, which exaggerated Book of Dreams' winning margin; that said, he's got a progressive profile and is worth crediting with a decidedly useful effort for the time being.

BOOK OF DREAMS (IRE) is clearly very well suited to testing conditions (previous turf win also came on heavy), but needs crediting with a chunk of improvement all the same given how far clear he pulled; prominent, pushed along over 2f out, led under 2f out, wandered around soon after but forged clear final 1f; challenge now is to back up this improvement on a sounder surface, whilst he will get hit hard to by the handicapper.
