looked well-in off the same mark as at Thirsk but failed to reproduce that form, this maybe explaining why he's not got much of a win record over the years; close up, travelled better than most, every chance over 1f out, faltered final 1f.

followed a good run with a below-par one, always behind, the effect of headgear maybe having just a short-term effect because it certainly wasn't just the climb back up the weights which led to her running so disappointingly.

All 10 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr G. J. Paver

Time: 59.08s

A largely in-form bunch of sprinters, the finish fought out by a couple having terrific seasons; there's a possibility the early pace was a bit stronger than ideal and, for a change here, a wide position on the track wasn't a disadvantage.

KINLOCH PRIDE returned as good as ever from 7 weeks off to notch her fifth handicap win of the season, a real credit to her trainer this year; raced wide, in touch, headway 2f out, disputed lead entering final 1f, edged ahead close home.

ROYAL BRAVE (IRE) continues in good heart and would have to be on any shortlist for 'most reliable horse of the year', only once out of the frame in 12 outings this season; in touch, shaken up 2f out, disputed lead entering final 1f, edged out close home.

ORIENT CLASS was reunited with Connor Murtagh and wasted no time getting back to form at a track where he'd won his only previous 2 starts; raced wide, waited with, ridden 2f out, stayed on.

FUMBO JUMBO (IRE) after just 4 days off, again shaped better than the bare result, putting herself on the back foot by missing the kick this time; dwelt, raced off the pace, good headway under 2f out, chased leaders entering final 1f, stayed on.

GAMESOME (FR) continues to frustrate, falling in the weights all the while, 0-80s just around the corner now; patiently ridden, shaken up 2f out, never landed a blow.

BOGART looked well-in off the same mark as at Thirsk but failed to reproduce that form, this maybe explaining why he's not got much of a win record over the years; close up, travelled better than most, every chance over 1f out, faltered final 1f.

ECONOMIC CRISIS (IRE) turned out again quickly, won this race last year from a 5 lb higher mark but seems to be going through the motions this time round; in touch, pushed along halfway, made no impression.

LYDIA'S PLACE found run of good form coming to a halt, though there is a chance she was asked to do too much too soon given the way the complexion changed late on; forced pace, headed entering final 1f, faded.

PEARL ACCLAIM (IRE) again ran below form; prominent, ridden approaching halfway, weakened over 1f out; he's eligible for much lesser handicaps.

ROSINA followed a good run with a below-par one, always behind, the effect of headgear maybe having just a short-term effect because it certainly wasn't just the climb back up the weights which led to her running so disappointingly.
