bounced back to form having slipped to last winning mark; prominent, untidy ninth, driven approaching 2 out, led on landing last, kept up to work; more competitive events await and isn't an obvious type to follow up.

seemed rejuvenated by the return to this track, all 4 of his wins over hurdles coming here; made running, around 5 lengths clear seventh, reduced advantage when hung left early final circuit, ridden leaving back straight, headed when mistake last, kept on; not sure to be in the same form next time.

back over hurdles for the first time in almost 4 years, is on a good mark in this sphere judged on his exploits for the yard last campaign but was very easy to back and presumably having a pipe-opener after 7 months off, certainly shaping as such; in rear, out wide fourth, crept closer early in straight, untidy 2 out, shaken up soon after, no extra, not knocked about; likely to be much closer to form next time, a return to top-end events over fences more than likely on the agenda.

shaped much better than the distance beaten suggests and would've probably finished third but for an untimely error; patiently ridden, jumped left fifth, took closer order home turn, around 3 lengths third when all but came down 2 out, not recover; it's worth remembering that he was progressive last season and is also eligible for lesser races.

ran badly; in touch, typically made mistakes, ridden before 3 out, struggling end of back straight, pulled up, reported to have lost action.

There's next to no chance this will have any bearing on the final of the series, one better known for his exploits as a chaser uneasy in the betting and shaping as if need of the outing behind a pair of inconsistent types.
