got right back on the up 7 months after signing off a very productive novice season with her first blip, seeing things out thoroughly trying 3m for the first time as she provided the same connections of close relative Casablanca Mix (runner-up once and late faller next time) with a tonic for that mare's reverses in this race, Fantastic Lady clearly that bit more of a stayer; waited with, took time to warm to task, good progress 4 out, upsides when ridden straight, jumped on 2 out, in control when hit last, responded well; she's good enough to be competitive in some of the lesser graded staying chases.

shaped as if as good as ever after 7 months off, just not having the stamina to see off a less-exposed one who relished the longer trip; tracked pace, typically jumped well, went with zest, jumped on fifth, yet to be asked for effort when joined entering straight, shaken up after 3 out, rallied until last, outstayed.

had little chance at the weights; raced off the pace, typically not fluent, labouring back straight, merely plugged on.

probably needed the run after 7 months off for all she was representing the stable that had secured a stranglehold on this prize for the last 3 years; handy, pushed along from 4 out, dropped away straight.

ran poorly after 7 months off, concerning considering how she'd shaped on her final outing of a 3-win novice season; raced off the pace, went with little fluency, ridden when bad mistake thirteenth, struggling from there.

No Chilli Filli in this year's renewal after her successive wins in the race, but front-running Zambella is a long-established very useful mare in her own right and it reflects well on a progressive rival starting only her second season chasing that she could wear her down and leave her behind late on after the pair had sprinted away in the straight.
