is progressing gradually and showed himself useful to resume winning ways in easier company than last time, showing stamina to grind things out; held up, headway after 3 out, pushed along next, stayed on to lead before last, edged left, driven out; things will only get tougher from now on, but he's holding his form well.

surprisingly stayed the longer trip no problem and ran his best race making handicap debut, not helped late on by the winner edging into him, though he looked a bit ungainly under pressure; dropped out, travelled fluently, headway after 3 out, chased leaders straight, effort last, carried head awkwardly, hampered run-in, kept on; he probably is a bit quirky, but has won plenty of races, Flat and jumps, and should continue to run well.

fit from a couple of good Flat runs, ran his best race so far over timber, suited by the longer trip on his first try beyond 17f and maybe worth a bit of extra credit given he was in the firing line earlier than the first 2; mid-division, travelled well, went prominent 3 out, led before next, headed approaching last, kept on; should remain competitive.

unpenalised for a recent win, shaped as if still in good nick even though unable to match the form he showed at Sandown, a contested lead meaning things were less in his favour; disputed lead, travelled well, went on 3 out, headed before next, faded between last 2; he'll be higher in the weights next time but seems to have got his act together now.

Most in the field should remain competitive but none can be described as notably progressive and it's solid rather than strong form so far as useful handicaps go; the principals were waited with off an even gallop.

SKY KHAN is progressing gradually and showed himself useful to resume winning ways in easier company than last time, showing stamina to grind things out; held up, headway after 3 out, pushed along next, stayed on to lead before last, edged left, driven out; things will only get tougher from now on, but he's holding his form well.

ENNISTOWN surprisingly stayed the longer trip no problem and ran his best race making handicap debut, not helped late on by the winner edging into him, though he looked a bit ungainly under pressure; dropped out, travelled fluently, headway after 3 out, chased leaders straight, effort last, carried head awkwardly, hampered run-in, kept on; he probably is a bit quirky, but has won plenty of races, Flat and jumps, and should continue to run well.

HANDIWORK fit from a couple of good Flat runs, ran his best race so far over timber, suited by the longer trip on his first try beyond 17f and maybe worth a bit of extra credit given he was in the firing line earlier than the first 2; mid-division, travelled well, went prominent 3 out, led before next, headed approaching last, kept on; should remain competitive.
