shaped well on just his second start in a handicap over hurdles, looking ahead of his mark for a long way, and he'll remain of interest for all he didn't look 100% straightforward on hitting the front, likely to benefit from having his finishing effort delayed longer; tracked pace, untidy sixth, quickened to lead approaching 2 out, headed last, kept on well, pulled clear of rest.

wasn't disgraced back over conventional hurdles whilst again looking less than straightforward, his finishing effort rather lacking after arguably travelling best for a long way; waited with, went handy before seventh, close up home turn, shaken up approaching 2 out, found less than looked likely.

A useful handicap if not one that attracted quite the quality of hurdler it was designed to; conditions dictated the emphasis was more on speed than stamina, plenty in contention approaching 2 out before the front pair quickened away, the runner-up arguably shaping best but not knuckling down so well as the winner when necessary.

AALIM had slipped a little in the weights and bounced back to form to take advantage returned to hurdling, aided to some extent by the runner-up not knuckling down as well as he from the second last, the pair quickening away from the rest; in touch, pushed along after 3 out, stayed on to lead last, ridden out.
