The in-form horses had this to themselves in the straight with Rocco and Real Steel already well beaten, though the course specialist in third didn't fancy knuckling down and Tide Times nearly gave it away thereafter due to waywardness of his own.

TIDE TIMES (IRE) was turned out again quickly under a penalty and followed up last week's C&D victory, though not for the first time he looked less than straightforward; chased leaders, hit 5 out, went second home turn, edged ahead before 3 out, jumped left there, hung left approaching last, driven out.

BOBHOPEORNOHOPE (IRE) again ran well, unable to repel a well-treated rival but showing a likeable attitude; made running, not fluent second, headed briefly fourteenth, pecked 4 out, headed again before next, rallied from 2 out, pulled clear of rest.

HEAD TO THE STARS has a good record at this track but evidently still retains plenty of temperament; waited with, untidy thirteenth, ridden after 5 out, went third 3 out, hung left and carried head awkwardly, not rt un on.

REAL STEEL (FR) fared no better in first-time cheekpieces after 8 weeks off; pressed leader, led briefly fourteenth, pushed along after next, lost second home turn, weakened.
