back under a fully-fledged rider, resumed winning ways from the same mark as when second over C&D in January, always going best but holding on grimly at the death; pressed leader, travelled well, led twelfth, ridden when mistake 2 out, 3 lengths ahead last, closed down flat, just held on.

ran well on form but went about it in odd fashion, lethargic out the back for a long way before producing a strong finish that would've taken him to the front in another side; soon behind, went in snatches, headway under pressure between last 2, finished well, just failed; maybe more testing ground suits ideally, though there's long been a suspicion that he isn't entirely straightforward.

wasn't disgraced but had no excuses and is a bit of an underachiever on the whole; chased leader, pushed along home turn, one paced, lost second run-in.

easy to back, might have needed the run after 11 weeks off, not that there's much strength to his Kempton form; prominent, ridden before 4 out, not quicken.

An in-form duo from the top of the betting fought this out clear of the rest having gone through a well-run race in contrasting styles, the prominently-ridden winner all out to hold off a runner-up who spent much off the contest off the bridle in a detached last.
