has the background of chaser, an Irish point winner related to winners in this sphere, and he made a really encouraging start to life over fences 11 weeks on from a disappointing run over hurdles, making only one slight error; led, jumped well in main, travelled smoothly, not fluent 4 out, kicked on after 3 out, won readily; this was only his sixth start under Rules and there's better to come.

An interesting novice handicap chase for the time of year but it rather fell apart, several making significant errors; the winner set an even gallop.

MONBEG LEGEND has the background of chaser, an Irish point winner related to winners in this sphere, and he made a really encouraging start to life over fences 11 weeks on from a disappointing run over hurdles, making only one slight error; led, jumped well in main, travelled smoothly, not fluent 4 out, kicked on after 3 out, won readily; this was only his sixth start under Rules and there's better to come.

SOLATENTIF (FR) wasn't disgraced back over fences but is still yet to win a race for this yard in either sphere; in touch, not fluent 5 out, ridden after 4 out, no extra before 2 out.

BACH DE CLERMONT (FR) had chased home a pair of subsequent winners when third over C&D in December but ran poorly after 5 months off; prominent, bad mistake twelfth, weakened before 4 out.
