took advantage of a further drop in the weights to end a long losing run; chased leaders, typically not always fluent, though travelled better than for a while, upsides fourteenth, went on approaching 3 out, drew clear before next (where awkward), ridden out.

well backed, had a tongue tie fitted and ran at least as well in defeat as when winning at Newcastle on last month's UK/chasing debut, unlucky to bump into a revived and well-treated rival; helped force pace, travelled smoothly, mistake 5 out, headed before 3 out, not fluent next, kept on; seems sure to be hit with a further rise in the weights for this effort, but remains likely to progress further.

All 15 ran. Fences: 19. Race Distance Adjustment: +99 yds

Time: 6m 14.4s Closing Sectional: (2.25f): 35.50s (97.9%)

No great surprise that more than half of the field failed to complete given this was run at an end-to-end gallop, the runner-up right at the head of affairs from the off, only a handful getting seriously involved, the well-treated Fox Appeal running out a decisive winner despite typically not being error free himself.

FOX APPEAL (IRE) took advantage of a further drop in the weights to end a long losing run; chased leaders, typically not always fluent, though travelled better than for a while, upsides fourteenth, went on approaching 3 out, drew clear before next (where awkward), ridden out.

CALETT MAD (FR) well backed, had a tongue tie fitted and ran at least as well in defeat as when winning at Newcastle on last month's UK/chasing debut, unlucky to bump into a revived and well-treated rival; helped force pace, travelled smoothly, mistake 5 out, headed before 3 out, not fluent next, kept on; seems sure to be hit with a further rise in the weights for this effort, but remains likely to progress further.

GALLERY EXHIBITION (IRE) is proving more miss than hit nowadays; raced along inside, close up, lost place after 5 out, behind when pulled up between last 2.

GENTLEMAN JON has gone off the boil and may benefit from a break; mid-division, struggling when mistake thirteenth.

GONE TOO FAR in first-time blinkers, shaped as if needing the run on his first outing since leaving Alan King after 4 months off; handy, took strong hold early, blundered twelfth, lost place end of back straight, behind when pulled up after 3 out.

MILAN BOUND (IRE) produced a laboured effort back over fences; mid-field, off the bridle circuit out, lost place before eleventh, left behind 5 out.

MONT ROYALE blundered and unseated rider eighth.

WHAT A LAUGH again ran poorly; raced off the pace, not jump well, pushed along after 5 out, behind when pulled up before next.
