progressed again as he brought up the 4-timer back from 12 weeks off, a mark 17 lb higher than last time (he might easily have gone up more) proving no obstacle; last, jumped/travelled well, close up 3 out, led early in straight, asserted quickly; he can progress again and is worth his place in something better.

remains in good form/on a fair mark (the one he would've beaten at Bangor scored earlier on this card) but suffered another late mishap; in touch, every chance home turn, fell 2 out (shading second at the time and might well have held that position).

Non Runners: SHAMAN DU BERLAIS (FR), FERN HILL (IRE), SEVEN NO TRUMPS (IRE). Fences: 10. Race Distance Adjustment: +4 yds

Winning Owner: Mr O. S. Harris

Time: 6m 36.4s Closing Sectional: (2.5f): 40.8s (103.3%)

Overrounds: Industry SP 109%, Betfair SP 101.9%

What should have been the middle fence in the home straight, second and third fences in back straight and open ditch on top of the hill were all omitted

Three last-time winners plus another that would've fitted that description but for a last-fence fall made for a competitive-looking race despite the small field, and it's certainly best to view the winner positively even if numerous omitted fences made for a rather muddling contest.
