A bunch of sprinters that looked closely matched beforehand and that's how it proved on the night, less than 2 lengths covering 7 of the 8, Mohareb surging to get there just in time.

MOHAREB was back down in trip and confirmed his return to form back from 8 weeks off, his rider timing it just right without having to go for everything; mid-field, effort home turn, led close home under mostly hands and heels; runner-up from marks in the 90s last winter, he'll remain competitively treated.

NEWYORKSTATEOFMIND back on all-weather, ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, doing everything right and just run out of things late on; chased leader, led early in straight, headed post.

TOTAL COMMITMENT (IRE) back on all-weather, wasted no time getting back on track returned to 6f; mid-division, pushed along home turn, kept on; he's more reliable than most.

RAAEB (IRE) was back on all-weather and returned to form, doing well under the circumstances; mid-field but out wide, ridden 2f out, ran on.

OPEN WIDE (USA) was back in headgear and got back on track, doing all he could from further back than ideal; patiently ridden, pushed along over 2f out, ran on late, hands-and-heels ride.

TREACHEROUS was back on all-weather and shaped as if still in good form, not seen to best effect; held up, pushed along early in straight, one paced, left poorly placed.

MUSCIKA again ran below form, generally a disappointment since his good run on Derby day; led, ridden over 2f out, headed early in straight, weakened late on.
