finished second in a race that's worked out well sole 2-y-o start and, gelded since last seen 6 months ago, confirmed that promise, going one better in workmanlike fashion; prominent, upsides 2f out, edged ahead final 1f, kept on; remains a useful prospect and capable of defying a penalty.

after 10 weeks off, improved again, going down fighting under a penalty against another good prospect; led, joined 2f out, headed final 1f, battled well; looks a straightforward type and may do better still, so should continue to give a good account.

Novice form to be positive about, the pair of useful types who dominated the betting pulling clear with a promising newcomer, whilst there was some longer-term potential further back as well; the gallop was fair.

ANMAAT (IRE) finished second in a race that's worked out well sole 2-y-o start and, gelded since last seen 6 months ago, confirmed that promise, going one better in workmanlike fashion; prominent, upsides 2f out, edged ahead final 1f, kept on; remains a useful prospect and capable of defying a penalty.

GLENTANEOUS (IRE) after 10 weeks off, improved again, going down fighting under a penalty against another good prospect; led, joined 2f out, headed final 1f, battled well; looks a straightforward type and may do better still, so should continue to give a good account.

SENSE OF HUMOUR (150,000Y: by Dark Angel: second foal: dam lightly-raced half-sister to very smart winner up to 1m Footstepsinthesand and smart 1m winner Belle d'Or out of useful 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Glatisant) made plenty of appeal on paper and shaped encouragingly, drawing clear with a couple of useful types who had prior experience; prominent, shaken up home turn, forced 3-wide entering straight, kept on well, not unduly punished; sure to progress and one to be interested in.

SECRET BOX probably needed the run after 7 months off; handy, pushed along 3f out, ran green, left behind straight, not knocked about; should still improve.

HESPERIS fared no better after just 7 days off; in rear, not unduly punished, never a threat; will get a lowly mark in relation to her pedigree and type to do better in handicaps, probably at 1¼m+.

ENGLISH SPIRIT failed to progress from debut; slowly into stride, in rear, never a threat.
