wasted no time getting back on track after failing to fire in Saudi Arabia last time, not needing to be at his best but scoring a shade cosily, his rider always looking confident of getting there; mid-division, settled better than has sometimes been the case but still took strong hold, headway out wide from 3f out, shaken up entering straight, stayed on to lead last ½f, pushed out; he struggled in Group 1 company on turf last summer but is good enough to mix it in lesser pattern races should he be campaigned a bit more conservatively this time around.

after 3 months off, hasn't managed a win over the winter but has nudged up his rating with every run, this a cracking effort faced with quite a stiff task at the weights, not going down without a fight either, albeit having been in the ideal position throughout; close up, took strong hold, edged ahead 2f out, tackled inside final 1f, headed last ½f, rallied, just failed.

couldn't match the form of his Winter Derby win, meeting trouble at a crucial moment but not helping himself either, the gaps there in the straight had he run true; in touch, short of room over 2f out, ridden when hung left early in straight, kept on.

after just 6 days off, fared better than of late without returning to his smart best; led, took keen hold, headed 2f out but remained prominent until weakened last ½f.

is probably better judged on previous form, this company a bit of a reach for him; raced off the pace, ridden home turn, made no impression.

Probably no more than an ordinary renewal of the Easter Classic in terms of the form achieved on the day, Bangkok having to work quite hard to run down one that was well positioned but ultimately getting there with a little to spare, his task made that bit easier by Forest Of Dean not firing fully.

BANGKOK (IRE) wasted no time getting back on track after failing to fire in Saudi Arabia last time, not needing to be at his best but scoring a shade cosily, his rider always looking confident of getting there; mid-division, settled better than has sometimes been the case but still took strong hold, headway out wide from 3f out, shaken up entering straight, stayed on to lead last ½f, pushed out; he struggled in Group 1 company on turf last summer but is good enough to mix it in lesser pattern races should he be campaigned a bit more conservatively this time around.
