got back on the up, doing well under the circumstances having conceded first run; in touch, shaken up early in straight, headway entering final 1f, stayed on to lead late on; he's in the form of his life and will merit plenty of respect again.

confirmed all of the improvement shown last time, getting first run but a horse to be positive about nonetheless, particularly with slightly lesser handicaps still open to him; tracked pace, headway on inner entering straight, quickened to lead 1f out, kept on but caught late on.

ran respectably, though left the impression he might come on for the run a little back from 12 weeks off; led, took keen hold, kicked on approaching 2f out, headed 1f out, no extra.

looked well-in under a penalty, due to be 3 lb higher still next time, but wasn't in the same form as last time, his big Wolverhampton effort perhaps taking the edge off him; close up, every chance early in straight, faded final 1f.
