followed up from last time with a performance just as good, seeing out the longer trip well, which opens more options; raced off the pace, went a bit in snatches, close up home turn, stayed on to lead approaching last ½f and asserted close home, winning a shade cosily if anything; he looks in good nick right now and will remain of interest in similar events.

A well-run event, despite the small field, with Grey Britain producing a smart performance to see off one that ran to somewhere near its best.

GREY BRITAIN followed up from last time with a performance just as good, seeing out the longer trip well, which opens more options; raced off the pace, went a bit in snatches, close up home turn, stayed on to lead approaching last ½f and asserted close home, winning a shade cosily if anything; he looks in good nick right now and will remain of interest in similar events.

WATERSMEET bounced back to somewhere near his best, though had every chance the way this went; tracked pace, went with zest, led 3f out, headed approaching last ½f, no extra close home.

STARGAZER (IRE) found run of good form coming to a halt; in touch, close up over 4f out, weakened approaching final 1f, not persevered with once held; type to bounce back quickly.

LORD GEORGE (IRE) back up in trip, shaped as if amiss; led until 3f out, folded, eased off.
