Just a useful field, the form a notch below that of the older horse version and this was run at quite a steady pace, one or 2 racing freely in behind and an advantage to be on the front end, Murphy keeping things simple on the form pick Corinthia Knight and he got the job done in relatively straightforward fashion.

CORINTHIA KNIGHT (IRE) stood out on form and didn't need to improve to gain the most valuable win of his career to date to go alongside the black type he picked up in France last time; chased leader, led 1f out, driven out; he's a thorough professional and a real credit to connections, his career representative of the stable as a whole, who have had an excellent winter and it's a disservice to his trainer to still describe him as up-and-coming, fully established now.

LAKE VOLTA (IRE) has his ups and down, like many in the yard, but this serves as a reminder than he's useful on his day, this as well as he's ever run in fact without things really going his way; mid-field, not settle fully, effort home turn, ran on late, not ideally placed.

ROCK ON BAILEYS had her winning run ended, but continues in top form, running right up to her best with her rider unable to claim his 3 lb allowance; chased leaders, pushed along 2f out, kept on; she might not have racked up so many wins as Spare Parts and Captain Lars this winter, but she's arguably improved more, increasing her Timeform rating by as much as 50 lbs since November.

BREATHLESS TIMES whose rider was unable to claim his 3 lb allowance, was unable to complete the hat-trick taking on a much stronger calibre of opposition but he progressed again and was unlucky not to win; slowly into stride, held up, pushed along over 2f out, short of room entering final 1f, finished strongly but caught further back than ideal; his career is in its infancy compared to most of these and he is sure to go on improving, a surprise if he doesn't prove the best of these.

HELVETIAN put to bed the theory that he's not so effective here as elsewhere, this on a par with his best, but ridden differently this time, well positioned as things panned out; led, headed 1f out, no extra late on.

DESERT DOCTOR (IRE) didn't have quite the chance the market suggested and wasn't disgraced back out of handicap company, particularly as a stronger pace would have suited; mid-field, raced freely, pushed along home turn, one paced.

ALBISHR (IRE) in first-time blinkers, faced a stiffer task in this grade and ran as well as could be expected; in rear, driven over 2f out, headway on inner home turn, not quicken.

COUNT OTTO (IRE) found run of good form coming to a halt, but this demanded a fair bit more than his recent handicap wins too; held up, effort over 2f out, one paced.

GLOBAL ACADEMY (IRE) was out of his depth anyway, but had had what little chance he did have badly compromised by the errant Never Back Down; slowly into stride, in rear, hampered and forced wide after 2f, always behind.

NEVER BACK DOWN (IRE) had beaten the winner (albeit a below-par version) in a fast-track qualifier for this in December but produced a wholly unsatisfactory performance after 4 months off, raising hithertoo unseen temperament concerns; held up, hung right on first bend then completely blew the home turn, not persevered with once held; has questions to answer all of a sudden.
