without a tongue strap making all-weather debut after 4 months off, this also his first start in handicap company since early in 2016, and he proved better than ever as he made short work of some inferior rivals, conditions here very much seeing him to his optimum; chased leader, travelled strongly, produced to lead early in straight, kept going well; will continue to prove hard to beat at 5f/6f if kept on the go this winter, including if aimed at the 6f event on Champions Day here on Good Friday.

form of win last time has already been upheld, but she wasn't able to reproduce it in this higher-quality affair; mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, left behind by principals in straight but kept on to grab a place.

has been most progressive at Chelmsford of late but was caught out by this sharper track, despite the return to 6f, further back than has been the case and merely passing beaten horses as he kept on in the straight; better judged on all his good work prior to this for now and worth another chance.

had looked to be coming to the boil but underperformed, probably paying the price for trying to match strides with the winner; forced pace, pushed along over 2f out, headed early in straight, faded; eligible for lesser races than this and not one to dismiss totally when back in a more suitable grade.
