hasn't looked back since being stepped up in trip, now 4 from 5 at 1½m+, his first win in Group company gained in typically determined fashion; mid-division, ridden entering straight, stayed on to lead close home; takes his racing well and the Great Voltigeur in less than 2 weeks time at York is reportedly under consideration.

ran well after 10 months off, no disgrace in losing out to one at the very top of his game; mid-division, headway on inner entering straight, led 2f out, collared only late on; well up to winning a race of this nature, particularly one confined to her own sex.

back down in trip, after 11 weeks off, shaped better than the bare result, unable to fully unwind in the straight, this likely to leave him spot on for bigger targets in the autumn; held up, going well when met some trouble early in straight, kept on, finished with running left, not knocked about.

ran below form back up in grade, possibly did too much too soon; made running, went with zest, hung right home turn, headed soon after, dropped away.

All 6 ran.

Winning Owner: Mrs June Judd

Time: 2m 36.9s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 37.85s (103.6%)

A smart renewal of this Group 3, all 6 having something to recommend them, the Irish Derby third Stellar Mass digging deep to see off the unexposed Almela, the favourite Bondi Beach leaving the impression this didn't get to the bottom of him; Lustrous Light took them along at a sound gallop.
