had a good 7-lb claimer on board and went one better than last time, getting first run on the second to some extent, also, seeing things out thoroughly after settling better than on her previous start, this almost certainly a career best; tracked pace, went on under 2f out, responded well.

after 10 weeks off, ran up to best, beaten only by one to whom he conceded first run; held up, headway under pressure 2f out, chased leader entering final 1f, stuck to task.

had won this race a couple of years earlier and was anything but disgraced, needing no excuses behind a couple at the top of their game; taken wide back straight, made running, shaken up 3f out, headed under 2f out, kept on.

was again a bit free even dropped back in trip, that as good a reason as any why others saw things out that bit better; close up, not settle fully, shaken up under 3f out, no extra approaching final 1f.

has never gone like a horse likely to relish this sort of trip but, in truth, wasn't necessarily beaten by lack of stamina; dropped out, shaken up under 3f out, late headway after not enjoying a trouble-free run, not that he'd have been involved in the finish, anyway.

probably needed the run after 9 months off, this arguably a tune-up for an all-weather campaign given how well he took to the surface last winter; held up, pushed along 3f out, made no impression.

A useful handicap and a fair race, Noble Gift setting what seemed to be an even gallop and Dance The Dream producing a career best ridden by a 7-lb claimer for the first time in a handicap.

DANCE THE DREAM had a good 7-lb claimer on board and went one better than last time, getting first run on the second to some extent, also, seeing things out thoroughly after settling better than on her previous start, this almost certainly a career best; tracked pace, went on under 2f out, responded well.
