The field was well strung out initially but gradually reformed from a circuit out and the winner struck decisively for home 2 out, looking value for a useful effort.

IDY WOOD (FR) was better than ever as he resumed winning ways for a stable that's rarely missing the target at present, Chepstow's Silver Trophy continuing to work out well, as it so often does these days; held up, travelled well, steady headway from 4 out, jumped on 2 out, in command flat, ridden out; he's a likeable type and will presumably at some point be given the chance to transfer this improvement back to chasing.

EYED thrived for a switch to this stable last season and made an encouraging return trying hurdles for the first time since April 2023; held up, headway before 2 out, went second last, stayed on; he's capable of winning if kept to this sphere but will be of at least as much interest back chasing, a return to 3m sure to suit, too.

BELOW THE RADAR (IRE) winless in 2024/24 but with much better signs on his final 2 outings, shaped as if needing the run after 7 months off but not before offering a fair bit of encouragement that he can correct that this time around, whether kept to hurdles or sent chasing; dropped out, headway before 2 out, chased leaders between last 2, one paced, not knocked about.

SAINT ANAPOLINO (FR) wasn't disgraced on form in a first-time hood but looked slightly hard work at times and perhaps some sterner headgear could be in order before long; mid-division in strung-out field, went in snatches, outpaced before 2 out, plugged on.

SUPREME YEATS (IRE) was lit up in blinkers for the first time for this stable and just the second overall, resulting in a marked change of tactics that saw him overdo things in the lead; raced freely, soon well clear, not fluent fifth, 4 out, reduced advantage before 3 out, headed next, weakened last.

SIXTY PLUS (IRE) was a big price back from 10 weeks off and had his winning run ended with a whimper, 10 lb higher in the weights than for the latest win of his summer spree and also throwing in a couple of trademark sloppy jumps; raced in second behind clear leader and clear of rest until circuit out, mistakes second, third, pushed along before 2 out, weakened before last.

BUSY BEING BUSY (IRE) ran poorly minus his usual hood, never getting out of last; raced well off the pace, mistake 4 out, struggling after next; his overall record offers hope he'll bounce right back.
