had solid claims at these weights and ran up to his best after 6 months off (without headgear this time), not having to improve with him getting first run on the second and third; chased leaders, pushed along early in straight, led 2f out, in command soon after, always holding on; he's won both starts at this track but is just as effective on turf.

was strong in the betting back on all-weather and got back on track, doing well under the circumstances given he was forced to concede first run; dwelt, held up, headway on inner early in straight, chased leader over 1f out, one paced; the handicapper cannot raise his mark for this and he looks the type to win more handicaps, no surprise if he develops into a contender for some of the top heritage events in 2023.

had the benefit of a 7-lb claimer at Yarmouth last time and though failing to repeat that here, he shaped as if still in good form on his all-weather debut having not been seen to best effect; slowly into stride, held up, pushed along 2f out, late headway, left poorly placed.

wasn't disgraced but it was hardly any better than at Beverley and he seems to just be going through the motions at present; slowly into stride, mid-field, ridden over 2f out, plugged on.

back on all-weather after 7 weeks off, again ran below form, his season in danger of petering out having looked ready to win a good handicap in mid-summer; chased leaders, outpaced early in straight, plugged on.

A very useful conditions stakes, the form not far off listed class, but it was run at just a modest gallop and though Mutafawwig was the winner on merit, he was seen to better effect than the pair who followed him home.

MUTAFAWWIG had solid claims at these weights and ran up to his best after 6 months off (without headgear this time), not having to improve with him getting first run on the second and third; chased leaders, pushed along early in straight, led 2f out, in command soon after, always holding on; he's won both starts at this track but is just as effective on turf.

WILLEM TWEE was strong in the betting back on all-weather and got back on track, doing well under the circumstances given he was forced to concede first run; dwelt, held up, headway on inner early in straight, chased leader over 1f out, one paced; the handicapper cannot raise his mark for this and he looks the type to win more handicaps, no surprise if he develops into a contender for some of the top heritage events in 2023.

REGIONAL back on all-weather after 7 weeks off, again ran below form, his season in danger of petering out having looked ready to win a good handicap in mid-summer; chased leaders, outpaced early in straight, plugged on.

ROYAL COMMANDO (IRE) continues below form; held up, pushed along soon after halfway, left behind over 1f out.

AYR HARBOUR faced a stiffer task in this grade and was below form; led, pushed along early in straight, headed 2f out, weakened.
