might have been uneasy in the market after 8 weeks off but ran up to his best, not facing as much pressure for the lead this time but still doing more than his rider would have wanted, to his credit that he was able to battle back past the runner-up; led, took strong hold, headed entering final 1f, rallied to lead final 100 yds; boasts a near-perfect record on an artificial surface, and will presumably head to Finals Day now.

well backed after 8 weeks off, ran up to his best but couldn't quite take advanage of the weight he was getting from Mighty Gurkha (admittedly only 5 lb this time when it had been 7 lb the time before); chased leader, quickened to lead entering final 1f, headed final 100 yds.

lost his unbeaten record, that he didn't make the running for the first time hardly looking in his favour the way this was run; mid-field, not settle fully, headway over 1f out, no further impression inside final 1f; may yet do a bit better, with 7f to explore at some stage, too.

seemed to excel himself, no real reason to doubt the form either given his position; steadied at the start, held up, effort 2f out, nearest at the finish.

is better judged on previous form, firmly on the up prior to this and still likely to prove capable of better, particularly back in handicap company; mid-division, chased leaders over 2f out, faded inside final 1f.

No reason to think the first 3 didn't run to form in this fast-track qualifier, Mighty Gurkha having just enough to spare under a 5 lb penalty to get back up after the runner-up had looked to have his measure inside the final 1f.

MIGHTY GURKHA (IRE) might have been uneasy in the market after 8 weeks off but ran up to his best, not facing as much pressure for the lead this time but still doing more than his rider would have wanted, to his credit that he was able to battle back past the runner-up; led, took strong hold, headed entering final 1f, rallied to lead final 100 yds; boasts a near-perfect record on an artificial surface, and will presumably head to Finals Day now.

ZAMAANI (IRE) well backed after 8 weeks off, ran up to his best but couldn't quite take advanage of the weight he was getting from Mighty Gurkha (admittedly only 5 lb this time when it had been 7 lb the time before); chased leader, quickened to lead entering final 1f, headed final 100 yds.

BRAVADO (FR) lost his unbeaten record, that he didn't make the running for the first time hardly looking in his favour the way this was run; mid-field, not settle fully, headway over 1f out, no further impression inside final 1f; may yet do a bit better, with 7f to explore at some stage, too.

ROHAAN (IRE) is better judged on previous form, firmly on the up prior to this and still likely to prove capable of better, particularly back in handicap company; mid-division, chased leaders over 2f out, faded inside final 1f.
