who'd had a breathing operation/been gelded since last seen and also had a tongue strap back on, proved better than ever as he got his career back on track, taking his record on all-weather to 3 from 3 and doing well under the circumstances, quickening from out of the pack to catch a front runner that wasn't stopping; held up, good headway over 1f out, found plenty to lead post; this form will be good enough to go close in the Final on Good Friday, for which he's now qualified.

progressed again up in grade, really impressing with how he went through the race; made running, travelled powerfully, quickened clear over 1f out, closed down final 1f, caught post; he's well up to winning at this level and won't have any trouble dropping back to 7f either.

Non Runners: RIPP ORF (IRE), I COULD DO BETTER (IRE).

Winning Owner: Mr K. Abdullah

Time: 1m 36.27s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 34.90s (103.4%)

There were a few disappointments but this is surely form to view positively so far as the 2 3-y-os that came clear are concerned, the runner-up showing loads of zest to get everything on the stretch and the winner doing very well to come from behind and run him down.

SET PIECE who'd had a breathing operation/been gelded since last seen and also had a tongue strap back on, proved better than ever as he got his career back on track, taking his record on all-weather to 3 from 3 and doing well under the circumstances, quickening from out of the pack to catch a front runner that wasn't stopping; held up, good headway over 1f out, found plenty to lead post; this form will be good enough to go close in the Final on Good Friday, for which he's now qualified.

KHUZAAM (USA) progressed again up in grade, really impressing with how he went through the race; made running, travelled powerfully, quickened clear over 1f out, closed down final 1f, caught post; he's well up to winning at this level and won't have any trouble dropping back to 7f either.

ACCIDENTAL AGENT shaped as if back in form but was never anywhere near the leaders and does seem hard to win with nowadays; raced off the pace, switched under 2f out, took third final 1f.

PREENING probably remains in form; patiently ridden, headway on inner 2f out, one paced, never landed a blow.

VIA SERENDIPITY failed to repeat his recent handicap effort up in grade; chased leaders, effort 2f out, no extra final 1f.

DANDHU wasn't disgraced, having a job on under her penalty; held up, ridden under 3f out, never involved.

LIBRISA BREEZE again ran below form, trying 1m for the first time in more than 3 years; mid-division, effort 2f out, not quicken.

LUSH LIFE (IRE) in first-time tongue strap, faced a stiff task; slowly into stride, never involved.

OH THIS IS US (IRE) back on all-weather, underperformed; in touch, pushed along over 2f out, weakened approaching final 1f.

MAKZEEM was below form; chased leaders, weakened approaching final 1f.

WAR GLORY (IRE) turned in a rare poor effort up in grade, something maybe not right for him to run as he did; chased leader, weakened under 2f out.

FLAMING SPEAR (IRE) continues out of sorts; mid-field, raced freely, weakened 2f out.
