has joined a yard that does well with new recruits and bounced back to best on first outing since leaving Rebecca Curtis after 7 weeks off, having been given a chance by the handicapper (had won the Reynoldstown this time last year), getting the better of an in-form horse who was seen to good effect; patiently ridden, not fluent second, in touch fourteenth, went second home turn, upsides 2 out, stayed on to lead run-in; he'll remain of interest once reassessed, a step back up in trip likely to suit, the only times he's tried beyond 3m having come in very competitive events, latterly when out of form too.

was seen to good effect and ran as well as he has, just going down to a well-handicapped stable switcher; led, jumped fluently, travelled well, challenged 3 out, joined next, ran on but had to give best to winner run-in, long way clear of remainder; will continue to run well, still low mileage for a 10-year-old/this yard.

continues out of sorts, the first-time cheekpieces/reapplied tongue tie providing no upturn in his form, his placing a very hollow one with nothing bar the first pair running their race; in touch, untidy 5 out, ridden leaving back straight, left behind entering straight, merely plugged on.

Only the first 2 were anywhere close to form but both of worth viewing fairly positively, a well-treated one starting out for a new yard just getting the better of one with solid handicap form this term.

BIGBADJOHN (IRE) has joined a yard that does well with new recruits and bounced back to best on first outing since leaving Rebecca Curtis after 7 weeks off, having been given a chance by the handicapper (had won the Reynoldstown this time last year), getting the better of an in-form horse who was seen to good effect; patiently ridden, not fluent second, in touch fourteenth, went second home turn, upsides 2 out, stayed on to lead run-in; he'll remain of interest once reassessed, a step back up in trip likely to suit, the only times he's tried beyond 3m having come in very competitive events, latterly when out of form too.

SANDY BEACH continues out of sorts, the first-time cheekpieces/reapplied tongue tie providing no upturn in his form, his placing a very hollow one with nothing bar the first pair running their race; in touch, untidy 5 out, ridden leaving back straight, left behind entering straight, merely plugged on.

BUGSIE MALONE (IRE) in first-time cheekpieces and given space between races this time (9 weeks), again underperformed and is becoming increasingly unreliable; chased leader, off the bridle long way out, hit 5 out, left behind entering straight, hung right soon after.

ASK THE WEATHERMAN ran no sort of race, perhaps not over his Chepstow exertions 5 weeks on, never jumping/travelling with any fluency and unable to adopt his customary handy position; untidy third, mistake fourth, reminders after, clouted tenth, pulled up after next.

CHAMPAGNE AT TARA unproven at the trip, again depated late on when held; waited with, mistake twelfth, ridden home turn, held early in straight, behind when fell last; generally opposable.

SIR IVAN seems to have lost his form completely, coming under pressure soon after halfway and backing out of things quickly; in touch, ridden after eleventh, soon done with.
