proved better than ever to make it 2 from 2 for the season, benefiting from the step up in trip (has long since looked a strong stayer), albeit under an enterprising ride as well; prominent, led sixth, pressed on 3 out, joined when not fluent last, rallied well and proved game; she has an excellent strike rate and will continue to run well.

stayed the longer trip well enough in a race that wasn't truly run but still seemed to be outstayed to some extent by the winner; in touch, travelled well, chased leader approaching 2 out, disputed lead soon after last, no extra near finish; she's reliable.

would have benefited from a stronger pace, even over this trip, and did enough to suggest she remains in form for all that she's run some way below her best rating; in touch, pushed along before 2 out, one paced.

ran respectably without matching her efforts in this race in the previous 2 years (won corresponding event in 2015 and was a close third in 2016), though she'd have benefited from a stronger pace the way she was ridden this time; held up, ridden when not fluent 2 out, made little impression.

A good field field for this mares listed event, all bar one of the 6 previous winners at at least this level; it was a bit of a muddling affair, however, because of a steady pace.

LA BAGUE AU ROI (FR) proved better than ever to make it 2 from 2 for the season, benefiting from the step up in trip (has long since looked a strong stayer), albeit under an enterprising ride as well; prominent, led sixth, pressed on 3 out, joined when not fluent last, rallied well and proved game; she has an excellent strike rate and will continue to run well.

MORELLO ROYALE (IRE) ran respectably without matching her efforts in this race in the previous 2 years (won corresponding event in 2015 and was a close third in 2016), though she'd have benefited from a stronger pace the way she was ridden this time; held up, ridden when not fluent 2 out, made little impression.
