A useful handicap won by one at the top of his game and the main feature of the race was the strong pace with all those that raced prominently dropping out in the finish.

MANTON GRANGE improved further back on all-weather in first-time cheekpieces after 9 weeks off, taking the step up in grade in style, though the way the race was run proved ideal for him; held up, travelled fluently, headway out wide 2f out, stayed on to lead last ½f, kept going well, helped by being held up in a strongly-run race.
