followed up his Cheltenham success, running to a similar level, possibly slightly fortuitously, with the runner-up fluffing the last, though the way he knuckled down under pressure was encouraging, given that his ability these days would appear not to allow him to win everything on the bridle; in touch, jumped well in main, travelled well, headway eighth, challenged straight, ridden after 2 out, led soon after last, ridden out; he'll reportedly go straight to the Champion Chase and will clearly merit serious consideration, as things stand.

ran creditably, getting weight from the first 2, having every chance and with no excuses, his last 2 runs suggesting limitations in this division; chased leader, pushed along after 4 out, every chance when not fluent next, not quicken, kept on run-in.
