Just the third running of this and the deepest one yet, the race not losing out for being held on the same day as the longstanding Grade 2 mares handicap at Newbury over half a mile further, the much greater prize money in this no doubt a big factor behind a strong Southern raiding party, Leloopa securing a double for her stable in the day's big 2 mares races; the gallop was good and the form looks solid, acknowledging the first 2 were both at big odds.

LELOOPA (IRE) whose 2 wins in the autumn looked a little flimsy, was presumably a lot fitter for recent run and took a big step forward to land this very valuable pot, seemingly all the better for finally finding a truly-run race; mid-field, chased leaders home turn, loomed up after next, produced to lead soon after, in control when untidy last, just kept up to work.

SUNSET HILL (IRE) ran well in any case, but particularly so considering the marked drop in trip, picking up more for finishing second in this valuable affair than she'd mustered in 8 previous runs; held up, effort 3 out, stayed on gradually, took second final 100 yds.

GAME COLOURS (IRE) ran well back in a handicap, doing best of those who raced prominently in a soundly-run affair; handy, led briefly after 2 out, left behind by winner before last, lost second final 100 yds.

WALKADINA (FR) ran well for a long way but ultimately didn't really see her race out, admittedly having been close up throughout in a well-run race; prominent, jumped on 3 out, headed after next, no extra.

RULA BULA (IRE) is in real danger of becoming disappointing, for all she did beat more than beat her in a valuable contest; tracked pace, untidy 4 out, one paced before 2 out.

SURREY BELLE proved a let-down on her handicap debut, though it's too early to be making an assessment on her mark just yet given she plainly didn't give her running; chased leaders, shaken up after 3 out, held when steadied into next.

BARRABOOL claimer ridden, took a misstep for pretty much the first time in her career, a well-run race over 2m asking too much of her seemingly; mid-field, untidy 3 out, soon done with.

TOUR OVALIE (FR) was never a threat turned out pretty quickly after her creditable effort at Cheltenham just the previous week.

GREEN SKY (IRE) was found out in such a competitive affair; in rear, uncomfortable with pace, not fluent first, never dangerous.

LIZZIE LUNA arrived on the up but this seemed all too much for her back at 2m; raced off the pace, not always fluent, struggling after fourth, tailed off when pulled up 2 out.

NORTHERN AIR (IRE) after 9 weeks off, overdid things on her handicap bow but was disappointing even so, 2 breathing operations already hardly making for a robust profile; led until mistake 3 out, brushed aside.

ASSORDA (FR) was biting off much more in this company and nowhere near up to it; mid-division, lost place fourth, behind when pulled up 3 out.
