without the headgear this time, proved better than ever as he justified strong support on just his second try at this sort of trip; held up, jumped fine, still plenty to do 3 out, rapid headway after next, led before last, stayed on well; he'll reportedly head to the Bowl at Aintree, which will likely prove beyond him.

returned to form with a tongue strap replacing a hood back chasing after 9 weeks off, seeing out the longer trip well enough; pressed leader, went on sixth, untidy 3 out, effort next, headed before last, kept on; he's in the Ryanair and the Plate at the Festival but a soft handicap up North will represent his best winning opportunity near to hand.

ran creditably after 11 weeks off, no excuses needed in a grade a bit beyond his capabilities; in touch, not fluent fourth, fifth, effort before 2 out, bumped approaching last, no extra.

probably needed the run after 3 months off, tuning up for big spring handicaps such as the Ultima (third last year) and the Grand National, much better expected in those even if he couldn't be said to have doing anything to enhance his claims for either; in touch, shaken up 3 out, weakened before last, not knocked about.

The betting proved a better guide than the form book to a listed race that saw the well-backed winner improve in successfully conceding weight to most, his task made easier by main market rival Monbeg Genius appearing short of fitness after a break.

THUNDER ROCK (IRE) without the headgear this time, proved better than ever as he justified strong support on just his second try at this sort of trip; held up, jumped fine, still plenty to do 3 out, rapid headway after next, led before last, stayed on well; he'll reportedly head to the Bowl at Aintree, which will likely prove beyond him.
