was comfortably the least exposed chaser in the field and became the second winner on the card to have contested the Catterick novice won by Saint Sonnet on their previous start, proving himself a better chaser than hurdler in the process, acknowledging the race really did fall apart; patiently ridden, travelled fluently, headway after seventh, led on bridle entering straight, drew clear quickly 2 out, won easily; his immediate prospects will likely depend on what view the BHA handicapper takes of this form, a chance he could overreact.

The first fence after the winning post was omitted

A useful handicap on the face of it but one that completely fell apart, three running miserably and leaving a novice to come home by a wide margin from one that was returning from 2 yrs off.
