taking on the geldings for the first time, landed the 4-timer in smooth fashion, wisely ridden more patiently than usual by Hughes on a day where such tactics generally paid dividends; taken wide, held up, smooth headway after sixth, going well when challenged 2 out, asserted before last, driven out; she's done little but progress in her short career so far and is still unexposed.

back down in trip, showed improved form up in grade after 6 weeks off; mid-field, headway after sixth, led briefly entering straight, tackled 2 out, one paced before last and just held on to second; he's got the background of one who'll make an even better chaser.

ran well upped in grade after 6 weeks off, even if he couldn't justify strong market support; waited with, took keen hold, took closer order circuit out, chased leader entering straight, switched between last 2, hung right run-in but kept on to nearly snatch second; he's quickly made up into a borderline useful hurdler and there should be even more to come once he goes chasing.

Time: 4m 49.1s Closing Sectional: (4.95f): 82.10s (96.2%)

This lacked quality for the grade and tactics had a significant bearing on the result, the 3 horses that cut out the running in the early/middle stages getting very tired in particularly gruelling conditions, the winner only needing to run to a fairly useful level to extend her winning sequence.

CLONDAW CAITLIN (IRE) taking on the geldings for the first time, landed the 4-timer in smooth fashion, wisely ridden more patiently than usual by Hughes on a day where such tactics generally paid dividends; taken wide, held up, smooth headway after sixth, going well when challenged 2 out, asserted before last, driven out; she's done little but progress in her short career so far and is still unexposed.

ELF DE RE (FR) back down in trip, showed improved form up in grade after 6 weeks off; mid-field, headway after sixth, led briefly entering straight, tackled 2 out, one paced before last and just held on to second; he's got the background of one who'll make an even better chaser.

CHEDDLETON ran well upped in grade after 6 weeks off, even if he couldn't justify strong market support; waited with, took keen hold, took closer order circuit out, chased leader entering straight, switched between last 2, hung right run-in but kept on to nearly snatch second; he's quickly made up into a borderline useful hurdler and there should be even more to come once he goes chasing.

UBETYA (IRE) ran as well as could be expected upped in grade; mid-field, outpaced after 2 out, plugged on.

CALVA D'AUGE (FR) back up in grade, ran too badly to be true, quickly beaten like the other front-runners; prominent, upsides sixth, went on next, headed entering straight, soon beaten.

MULTELLIE was beaten by more than the rise in grade, one of 3 that vyed for the lead; prominent, led after fourth, joined sixth, dropped away after 4 out.

EBONY JEWEL (IRE) clearly wasn't 100% on the day, beaten long before the extra distance became a factor; took keen hold, led until after fourth, weakened next, held when fell heavily sixth.
