set the standard on his Cheltenham return and was found a good opportunity, picking up a class 2 without much fuss after 7 weeks off, the effectiveness of the breathing operation he's had not fully tested; never far away, hit sixth, seventh, went on between last 2, in control when flattened last, kept up to work; he'll need to polish his jumping as he's forced back into more competitive races.

wasn't seen to best effect, generally better in a bigger field, and was never any threat to the winner; raced along inside, patiently ridden, effort 3 out, took second run-in but no impression on winner.

shaped with more encouragement than the distance beaten might suggest on first outing since leaving A. J. Martin after 6 months off, very easy to back and ultimately shaping as though not quite getting home; waited with, went third back straight, threatened between last 2, no extra flat; he's 12 now and his mark is still on the stiff side, however.

was stretched by the trip but shaped as if back in form, admittedly in a weak race for the grade; not always fluent, led until after 2 out, faded.
