finally got off the mark in this sphere, progressing again to do so, more end product this time in a race that went well for him; held up, smooth headway 5 out, produced to challenge positively-ridden runner-up before last, took time to get past but edged ahead run-in and ran on.

had escaped with a 2 lb rise for Newcastle and ran at least as well in defeat, still not back to his very best novice form the last twice but much closer to it, in the mood under positive rides both times; helped force pace, blundered seventh, pressed on ninth, kept on well straight and, though headed after last, stuck to task as if fitness was no issue after 11 weeks off.

clearly still has something to offer in this sphere as well from his higher chase mark, shaping well for a long way back from 13 weeks off, albeit not helping his cause under pressure; waited with, travelled smoothly, headway when hit fourteenth, good progress home turn, shaken up after 2 out, hung left, ran on.

A good test, thanks to Beeves/Dystonia's Revenge, and it's a result that makes sense, the runner-up splitting a pair who arrived in good form, the trio clear of a potentially well-treated one.

LORD BRENDY finally got off the mark in this sphere, progressing again to do so, more end product this time in a race that went well for him; held up, smooth headway 5 out, produced to challenge positively-ridden runner-up before last, took time to get past but edged ahead run-in and ran on.

FULL JACK (FR) clearly still has something to offer in this sphere as well from his higher chase mark, shaping well for a long way back from 13 weeks off, albeit not helping his cause under pressure; waited with, travelled smoothly, headway when hit fourteenth, good progress home turn, shaken up after 2 out, hung left, ran on.

GREEN WIZARD (IRE) has slipped in the weights and hinted firmly at a revival; handy and went with more zest than last time, close up circuit out, ridden after 5 out, led briefly next, no extra between last 2; one to bear in mind.
