JANGO BAIE (FR) just didn't seem in the same form as when winning a Grade 1 at Aintree, clear from before the home straight that he was making heavy weather of things; held up, not settle fully, not clear run after 3 out, ridden home turn, went second last, kept on; he's surely worth another chance to prove himself a smart prospect, and maybe a well-run race back around 2m will suit better for all he didn't fail for lack of stamina here.

BUGISE SEAGULL (IRE) ran well on form faced with a tougher task but looked a bit of a sluggard, neither travelling nor jumping all that fluently; made running, headed when untidy 3 out, one paced from next; he's ready for 3m and looks a chaser.

DIAMOND RI (IRE) is clearly still learning and didn't jump well enough to cope with the rise in grade; chased leader, mistakes fifth, 4 out, upsides 3 out, weakened next.
