often finds the fences getting in the way, but Hexham provides arguably the easiest jumping test around and, after keeping errors to a minimum, he was able to get off the mark for the yard, doing so in tenacious fashion after the favourite had seemed to have his measure; chased leader, mistake 2 out, ridden after, stayed on to lead dying strides.

was back at a lesser level and hasn't come closer to breaking his duck over fences, surely only a matter of time before he does; dictated, jumped well in main, shaken up approaching last, stayed on, edged out dying strides; he's yet to have a go around the minimum trip over fences but is worth a try on account of his solid jumping.

has been cleverly placed to reach the frame on every start this season but he's quite easy to oppose in truth; dropped out, avoided mistakes, not quicken after 2 out.

Just 5 runners but Joke Dancer was the only one that was easy enough to rule out, the 2 that dominated the finish occupying the first 2 places throughout and High Moon edged out only in the dying strides after being able to dictate.
