gained reward for a string of consistent efforts, producing his best peformance to date after 9 weeks off, helped by the presence of a 7-lb claimer in the saddle, though the main factor was the longest trip he's encountered, looking all about stamina; in touch, good progress 3 out, not fluent there, upsides next, edged ahead early in straight, forged clear, suited by emphasis on stamina; has the makings of a useful staying chaser next season.

is on an upward curve (better than result in very competitive race last time) and progressed again over the longest trip he's encountered, just bumping inito one who improved even more for the trip; disputed lead, mistake third, headed after 2 out and looked held soon after, rallied and every chance again briefly last, no match for winner; definitely has the scope to make a chaser.

went with more zest this time just 10 days on and ran near to his best, a bit more exposed than the first pair; in touch, upsides 2 out until approaching last, no extra flat.

claimer ridden back over hurdles, ran no sort of race after 7 weeks off and increasingly looks one to avoid; handy, looked none too keen, ridden/lost place sixth, labouring badly soon after, merely passed a couple of beaten horses late.

ran too badly to be true, not looking anything like the same horse that had reeled off 4 on the spin; waited with, hung right at times, awkward fifth, crept closer next, not fluent ninth, pushed along after, soon done with, behind when awkward again 2 out.

ran badly back over hurdles in first-time blinkers, increasingly looking one to oppose; disputed lead, not always fluent, went in snatches, struggling 3 out, soon beaten (lost shoe).

Half the field ran poorly but the other 3 were right on their game and it's form to be positive about so far as they're concerned; the pace was fair and it turned into a test in the conditions.
