A stamina-sapping contest in which plenty made errors, but the placed horses are all lightly raced at this kind of trip and it was still a useful affair despite the comparatively low prize money.

ALL ABOUT JOE (IRE) has developed into a reliable type and quickly resumed winning ways, suited by the emphasis on stamina; patiently ridden, crept closer back straight, led under pressure soon after 4 out, in command approaching last, kept going well.

JIMMY THE DIGGER had been shaping as though a step up in trip and return to more testing conditions would suit, and remains in top form, beaten only by a progressive one with a large gap back to the third, the race won by Anightinlambourn at Cheltenham working out well; mid-field, travelled well, close up approaching eighth, led briefly early in straight, kept on; totally unexposed at long distances and one to keep on the right side.

CONQUREDALOFEUROPE (IRE) strong in the betting back up in trip, again shaped well in a higher grade than he need be in (3 lb out of the handicap), picked off by a pair from further back having been hassled up front throughout; disputed lead, jumped on 5 out, headed early in straight, tiring when not fluent 2 out; still unexposed beyond 3m and remains the type to win races for new connections.

MORNING SPIRIT (IRE) up in grade, wasn't in the same form as when winning last time and remains unproven at this sort of trip; close up, disputed lead eighth, awkward sixteenth, ridden end of back straight, beaten when slow 4 out.

HOLD THAT TAUGHT shaped similarly to last time having been weak in the market, his jumping continuing to hold him back; waited with, awkward twelfth, clouted sixteenth, out wide next, some headway home turn, shaken up 4 out, no further impression.

ENQARDE (FR) unproven at the trip, fared little better returned to regulation fences, last of those to complete; mid-division, jumped left, ridden end of back straight, awkward 4 out, never involved.

SAM'S ADVENTURE attracted support having dropped to his lowest mark for nearly 3 years, but was let down by his jumping; in touch, untidy thirteenth, reminders early final circuit, not fluent fifteenth, just starting to weaken when unseated rider next.

NICEANDEASY (IRE) just out of the handicap, produced a typically error-strewn round; in rear, mistake second, not fluent sixteenth, labouring entering straight, awkward 3 out, pulled up quickly.

DANILO D'AIRY (FR) failed to complete for the third start in succession after 10 months off, another to be let down by its jumping; raced wide, mid-field, awkward fifth, mistake seventh, slow ninth, behind when pulled up fourteenth.

SAMUEL JACKSON followed a good run with a poor one; disputed lead until eighth, remained prominent, ridden approaching sixteenth, slow there, lost touch home turn, pulled up early in straight.

DEISE ABA (IRE) wasn't on a going day and is hard to predict nowadays; handy, went in snatches, lost place after eighth, struggling fifteenth, pulled up before 5 out.

GOOD BOY BOBBY (IRE) was below last winning mark but ran no sort of race, beaten well before the return to a longer trip was a factor; raced wide/off the pace, ridden 5 out, struggling soon after, pulled up home turn.
