gelded since last seen after an unsuccessful stint in Dubai 4 months ago, showed improved form to make the breakthrough at pattern level, a strongly-run 7f arguably his optimum; mid-division, pushed along over 2f out, led over 1f out, kept up to work; there's quite a good programme for older horses at this sort of trip nowadays, the Lennox at Goodwood and the likes of the Hungerford/City of York later in the summer, and this suggests he's up to mixing it in Group 2 company.

had given the impression he needed his first 2 runs back and bounced back to his best here, doing well under the circumstances with this not getting to the bottom of him, this test a minimum; held up, shaken up over 3f out, had to weave way through over 1f out, kept on well, finished with running left; he'll be suited by a return to 1m and is one for the shortlist for the Royal Hunt Cup, already a C&D winner in the Balmoral last autumn.

isn't far off this standard, but couldn't translate his big-field, straight track handicap form to this different sort of contest; prominent, ridden over 2f out, not quicken; he's not in the Hunt Cup, so it will presumably be the Buckingham Palace for him at Royal Ascot.

An open renewal of this Group 3 according to the betting and pre-race Timeform ratings, but it proved anything but with one of the 4-y-os taking a step forward, Kinross perhaps belatedly set to fulfil the abundant promise of that winning debut as a 2-y-o; Brad The Brief set a sound pace, the form underpinned by a good timefigure.

KINROSS gelded since last seen after an unsuccessful stint in Dubai 4 months ago, showed improved form to make the breakthrough at pattern level, a strongly-run 7f arguably his optimum; mid-division, pushed along over 2f out, led over 1f out, kept up to work; there's quite a good programme for older horses at this sort of trip nowadays, the Lennox at Goodwood and the likes of the Hungerford/City of York later in the summer, and this suggests he's up to mixing it in Group 2 company.
