Non Runners: FINNISTON FARM, HERCULEAN. Race Distance Adjustment: +41 yds

Winning Owner: The Kathryn Stud

Time: 2m 18.58s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 39.00s (104.6%)

Plenty failed to fire on the day, including some that looked to have a good form chance, and though a useful race it probably won't prove a notably strong 0-95 whilst the form isn't sure to hold up when conditions inevitably dry out over the coming weeks.

HULCOTE was well backed and got back on the up, seeming to relish the more testing ground than she'd tackled before (sole previous win came on good to soft); chased leaders, shaken up 2f out, stayed on to lead final 100 yds, driven out.

THISTIMENEXTYEAR fit from jumps, goes well in the mud and showed improved form back on the Flat; mid-division, travelled well, headway to lead over 2f out, headed final 100 yds, kept on.

LUNAR JET after just 4 days off, got back on track, doing especially well under the circumstances as he had a fairly rough race; in rear, hampered soon after start, short of room over 2f out, headway soon after, ran on.

FALMOUTH LIGHT (FR) after just 6 days off, again ran creditably to hit the frame again; dropped out, headway over 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, one paced.

AWAKE MY SOUL (IRE) wasn't disgraced after 7 weeks off, stepping up a bit from reappearance, but his mark is stiff; led until over 2f out, outpaced, plugged on.

ZZORO (IRE) whose stable is struggling, ran below form, not seeing things out; chased leader, challenged over 2f out, weakened final 1f.

DARK RED (IRE) was possibly unsuited by such testing conditions and isn't one to write off from a declining mark; held up, struggling over 2f out, never on terms.

LORELINA easy to back, proved to be a disappointment considering conditions were firmly in her favour; in touch, lost place over 2f out, hung badly left, weakened.

DAAWY (IRE) back in headgear after 8 weeks off, again ran below form and has a bit to prove for now; held up, struggling 3f out, never dangerous.

MORNING WONDER (IRE) clearly wasn't 100% on the day; prominent, lost place over 2f out, folded tamely, something not right.

INDY (IRE) after 21 months off, shaped as if amiss; struggling 4f out, always behind.
