had optimum conditions, building an excellent record at this track (only defeat here came on debut, 3 from 3 since), and proved better than ever to run down a progressive 3-y-o; missed the break but rider didn't panic and travelled well in rear, made good progress out wide 2f out, stayed on to lead close home, suited by the way the race developed; everything was in his favour here, so this performance is perhaps close to his limit, but he's been consistent all year and is likely to continue in form.

lost his unbeaten record but it was another cracking effort after 6 lb rise in the weights and he's a most progressive sort; waited with, travelled strongly, smooth headway out wide from 2f out, quickened to lead inside final 1f, idled slightly (possibly still a little green) and was collared close home; remains open to improvement and will continue to be of interest, the potential there for him to make up into a listed/minor pattern performer, but before that there could be a valuable handicap in him.

is potentially well handicapped and seems to be building up to something; raced well off the pace, headway under pressure over 1f out, not clear run inside final 1f, stayed on; not one for maximum faith but handles testing ground well and certainly not one to be discounting for similar events in the coming weeks.

Although things got a little messy inside the final 1f with a few of them getting in each others way, this is essentially solid handicap form, a pair of progressive sorts pulling clear; the early pace was nothing special but they picked it up some way out and the winner came from a detached last.

EXPRESS HIMSELF (IRE) had optimum conditions, building an excellent record at this track (only defeat here came on debut, 3 from 3 since), and proved better than ever to run down a progressive 3-y-o; missed the break but rider didn't panic and travelled well in rear, made good progress out wide 2f out, stayed on to lead close home, suited by the way the race developed; everything was in his favour here, so this performance is perhaps close to his limit, but he's been consistent all year and is likely to continue in form.

FINN CLASS (IRE) ran up to his best behind a pair of improvers and didn't do anything wrong with regards his attitude this day, either; chased leaders, went with enthusiasm, went on over 1f out, headed inside final 1f, kept on.

OUR BOY JACK (IRE) has little in hand from present mark but ran one of his better races at least; chased leaders, driven over 1f out, kept on, had every chance.

DREAM WALKER (FR) is potentially well handicapped and seems to be building up to something; raced well off the pace, headway under pressure over 1f out, not clear run inside final 1f, stayed on; not one for maximum faith but handles testing ground well and certainly not one to be discounting for similar events in the coming weeks.

BERTIEWHITTLE was unpenalised for York win but isn't a miler and was too keen early on to see the race out; in touch, not settle fully, weakened approaching final 1f.
