is another success story for Michael Appleby, thriving ever since joining the yard from Brian Baugh, this making it 3 wins from 4 starts, putting up another career best, suited by the strongly-run race back at 7f; mid-division, went with enthusiasm, smooth headway over 3f out, slightly short of room over 2f out, kept on well once out to lead near the line; hard to know how much more he could pull out for this stable but looks certain to continue to run well.

is interesting from this sort of mark, 14 lb lower than at the start of the season, and bounced back to form, doing well under the circumstances to be denied by the narrowest of margins; helped force pace, travelled well, driven over 1f out, collared only near line even though he went off too hard; he's one to keep an eye on.

shaped well on first outing since leaving John Butler after 12 weeks off, unlucky not to win, certainly worth rating upsides Pearl Nation; chased leaders, travelled smoothly, no room over 2f out and was shuffled back, forced to switch over 1f out, then finished with a flourish; he has had a lot of opportunities off similar marks but there's a chance new yard have found the key to him and he's one to look out for after this.

isn't firing at present but again went without usual headgear here, looked to be carrying plenty of condition too, and he has been given such a chance by the handicapper that he's not one to be ruling out (already 4 lb lower than when successful in April); chased leaders, struggling 2f out, faded.

All 12 ran. Race Distance Adjustment: -8 yds

Winning Owner: Iddon, M&C Dixon, Taylor, Finn, O'Brien

Time: 1m 27.37s

This could prove to be quite strong form, the winner thriving at present, whilst the one he beat in a photo has slipped a long way in the weights; it was run at a strong pace, Deauville Prince doing well to maintain it as well as he did, whilst Democretes was the one that was unlucky in the run.

PEARL NATION (USA) is another success story for Michael Appleby, thriving ever since joining the yard from Brian Baugh, this making it 3 wins from 4 starts, putting up another career best, suited by the strongly-run race back at 7f; mid-division, went with enthusiasm, smooth headway over 3f out, slightly short of room over 2f out, kept on well once out to lead near the line; hard to know how much more he could pull out for this stable but looks certain to continue to run well.
