SIR CHAUVELIN turned in his best effort of the season, taking the eye with the strength of his finishing effort, though he never looked like reeling in a progressive stablemate 6 years his junior; dwelt, raced well off the pace, ridden over 3f out, still plenty to do 2f out, progress over 1f out, edged right soon after, finished well.

STRAWBERRI whose form last time is proving strong, ran a cracker back up in grade and she's totally unexposed at this trip, her best efforts on turf all with some give underfoot, which bodes well for an autumnal campaign; patiently ridden, out wide early in straight, headway under pressure over 2f out, kept on.

FAYLAQ had probably been targeted at this and, without the cheekpieces this time and back up in trip, broke on terms and stepped up plenty on recent run just 10 days on, this his best effort for the yard; mid-division, going well when had to wait for gap under 3f out, headway under pressure under 2f out, kept on.

DARK JEDI (IRE) is a reliable performer and posted yet another creditable effort in a valuable contest after just 7 days off; raced wide, mid-field, ridden over 3f out, steady headway 2f out, held when met some trouble entering final 1f, never on terms.

TILSITT (FR) ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade, having no issues with the longer trip; prominent, led on bridle 3f out, headed over 2f out, edged right soon after, one paced; he's eligible for much lesser contests than this.

PRIDE OF PRIORY arrived firmly on the up but wasn't seen to best effect, caught in a pocket at a vital stage and looked after once his chance had gone, though he still made some late gains; held up, ridden over 3f out, headway when forced to switch 2f out, kept on, nearest at the finish; well worth another chance to prove himself better than current mark.

HAVEYOUMISSEDME who attracted support with his form behind Pride of Priory proving strong, shaped as if still in good form, though needs to cut out the slow starts; mid-division, took keen hold, ridden when switched 3f out, effort 2f out, effort flattened out.

CORMIER (IRE) back up in trip, was strong in the betting with the yard going well, though failed to meet expectations from an 8 lb higher mark for Chester win, not helping his rider by lugging under pressure; mid-field, took keen hold, close up early in straight, driven 3f out, hung right soon after, beaten when short of room briefly 1f out; he's the type to bounce back quickly.

FORZA ORTA (IRE) back up in grade, wasn't in the same form as when winning at York 7 weeks earlier, losing his unbeaten course record and his finishing effort non-existent; close up, travelled well, driven over 2f out, found less than looked likely.

HALIPHON whose stable is going well, had seen off the Ebor runner-up when scoring at Chester 6 weeks earlier, but proved to be a disappointment on hat-trick bid, the cheekpieces clearly not having the desired effect on the second occasion; handy, ridden under 3f out, faded final 1f.

STATE OF BLISS (IRE) is back down to last winning mark, but had no excuses this time; led, settled better than usual, headed 3f out, weakened under 2f out.
