had run 2 huge races in defeat and deservedly got off the mark for the season, Fanning wisely making plenty of use of him as he dropped back in trip; raced clear, closed down briefly 4f out, shaken up over 2f out, kept going well; he's still unexposed as a stayer and could make up into a lively outsider for the St Leger, a race - mentioned in the aftermath by his trainer - which his close relative finished runner-up in last year.

ran well upped in grade, as expected having no problem with the longer trip, just beaten by a higher-rated rival whose tune he had to dance to; waited with, rapid headway 4f out as leader steadied pace, ridden 3f out, threatened over 1f out, one paced.

wasted no time getting back on track, earning some Black Type, beaten by 2 better horses but sticking to her task in the style of one who'll be suited by a return to 1½m; in touch, pushed along over 3f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on.

went backwards from reappearance in first-time cheekpieces, rather disappointing considering his overall profile; raced off the pace, pushed along entering straight, faded from 2f out; he's yet to race on soft ground as a 3-y-o.

found this a shock to the system just over 3 weeks on from his winning debut, still too inexperienced to do himself justice (also reported to have returned lame); in touch, driven home turn, brief headway 4f out, hung left, dropped away; it's still early days and he did look promising at Thirsk.

Winning Owner: Dr J. Walker

Time: 2m 21.87s Closing Sectional: (3.00f): 37.90s (101.4%)

An interesting renewal of this listed race that went to the likable stayer Subjectivist, who was asked to go a sound gallop in front, his rider steadying it somewhat 4f out before kicking again.

SUBJECTIVIST had run 2 huge races in defeat and deservedly got off the mark for the season, Fanning wisely making plenty of use of him as he dropped back in trip; raced clear, closed down briefly 4f out, shaken up over 2f out, kept going well; he's still unexposed as a stayer and could make up into a lively outsider for the St Leger, a race - mentioned in the aftermath by his trainer - which his close relative finished runner-up in last year.

TRITONIC ran well upped in grade, as expected having no problem with the longer trip, just beaten by a higher-rated rival whose tune he had to dance to; waited with, rapid headway 4f out as leader steadied pace, ridden 3f out, threatened over 1f out, one paced.

TULIP FIELDS wasted no time getting back on track, earning some Black Type, beaten by 2 better horses but sticking to her task in the style of one who'll be suited by a return to 1½m; in touch, pushed along over 3f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on.

CONVICT went backwards from reappearance in first-time cheekpieces, rather disappointing considering his overall profile; raced off the pace, pushed along entering straight, faded from 2f out; he's yet to race on soft ground as a 3-y-o.
