quickly got back on track returned to his favoured venue, winning here for the fifth time in just 7 starts (yet to taste success away from Hamilton); raced centre, led overall, shaken up over 2f out, tackled over 1f out, battled well; displayed a willing attitude, though given his record, it is hard to be confident about him reproducing this form elsewhere, a factor that diminishes his prospects of following up, this the final meeting at the course this year.

without the headgear this time, took a step back in the right direction after just 6 days off, appearing to do so in spite of the drop to 6f rather than because of it (last seen over this trip in February 2012); raced centre, mid-division, effort approaching 2f out, outpaced soon after, kept on final 1f; should be suited by a return to 7f+ and, having fallen to his last winning mark, is one to bear in mind.
