A more competitive listed event than perhaps the market indicated, even if a few weren't at the top of their game, the winner's effort well up to standard for the race, with the runner-up taking a significant step forward on the back of an encouraging return.

LIBERTY LANE (IRE) has taken a while to find his feet out of handicaps, but stepped up again, to gain a first win at listed level, sure to continue to give a good account at this and minor pattern level through the summer; in touch, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, led 1f out, kept on, ridden out.

MEYDAAN (IRE) had shaped encouragingly at Ascot on his return and, back over a more suitable trip, stepped up considerably on that form, giving another boost to Sardinian Warrior in the process, a race at this level clearly within his compass; held up, effort under 3f out, stayed on approaching final 1f, chased leader soon after, ran on.

SILVER KNOTT usually competes in a higher grade, but a 7-lb penalty set him a stiffer test than the market indicated and he ran closer to his best than he had at Newmarket last time, over the shortest distance he's tackled since 2023; raced wide, close up, took keen hold, shaken up under 3f out, led briefly over 1f out, no extra final 100 yds.

CASH (IRE) stepped up on his reappearance effort, doing enough to think most of his ability remains in tact, doing his best work late on; slowly into stride, in rear, took keen hold, still plenty to do over 2f out, effort after, edged left, stayed on final 1f, nearest at the finish.

PEACE MAN leaves the impression he isn't quite firing fully, though he again wasn't disgraced, as at Sandown hanging left on a right-handed track; led, shaken up 3f out, headed over 1f out, weakened hung left inside final 1f.

JEFF KOONS (IRE) has improved since he was last seen in Britain, beaten off a BHA mark of 90 in autumn of 2023, but not enough to think he'd be cdompetitive in a good listed event; tracked pace, took keen hold, shaken up 3f out, weakened over 2f out.

EXOPLANET (FR) easy to back, went backwards from his reappearance, raising some concerns about his longer-term prospects, given how lightly raced he's been; prominent, took keen hold, shaken up over 3f out, weakened 2f out.

SIR BUSKER (IRE) had cheekpieces back on, but he fared no better than at Ascot; soon steadied, shaken up over 3f out, made no impression.

SAVVY VICTORY (IRE) hadn't been at the top of his game on his first 2 starts and was well held back in a competitive listed event; held up, effort 3f out, weakened over 1f out, hung right, never on terms.
