had run well behind an improver when last seen on 2000 Guineas day and confirmed the promise of that run after 5 months off, value for extra on the day given the position from which he came in a steadily-run contest; steadied at the start, patiently ridden, shaken up briefly over 4f out but came there going well 2f out, led inside final 1f, kept up to work and had bit in hand; this was a very promising start to his autumn campaign and he'll have to be of interest wherever he goes now, whether that be something like the November Handicap or a return hurdling for another crack at the Greatwood.

back down in trip, ran well after 5 months off, setting himself up nicely for a return to hurdling, with a return to Wincanton for the Elite Hurdle early next month a possible target, depending on the ground; led, kicked on 4f out, tackled over 1f out, headed approaching last ½f, rallied but always just held.

strong in the betting, returned to form after 8 weeks off; held up, had to wait for gap over 2f out, hung right final 1f, ran on; like the first 2, he could well be back over timber when next seen.

fairly easy to back, wasn't disgraced after 7 weeks off, this perhaps a stepping stone with a return to Kempton in mind; waited with, progress under 3f out, not quicken final 1f.

A good contest on paper, though it was slowly run and resulted in a rather bunched finish, suggesting the form isn't as strong as it might have been.

TRITONIC had run well behind an improver when last seen on 2000 Guineas day and confirmed the promise of that run after 5 months off, value for extra on the day given the position from which he came in a steadily-run contest; steadied at the start, patiently ridden, shaken up briefly over 4f out but came there going well 2f out, led inside final 1f, kept up to work and had bit in hand; this was a very promising start to his autumn campaign and he'll have to be of interest wherever he goes now, whether that be something like the November Handicap or a return hurdling for another crack at the Greatwood.

GOSHEN (FR) back down in trip, ran well after 5 months off, setting himself up nicely for a return to hurdling, with a return to Wincanton for the Elite Hurdle early next month a possible target, depending on the ground; led, kicked on 4f out, tackled over 1f out, headed approaching last ½f, rallied but always just held.

AJERO (IRE) strong in the betting, returned to form after 8 weeks off; held up, had to wait for gap over 2f out, hung right final 1f, ran on; like the first 2, he could well be back over timber when next seen.

SARATOGA GOLD continues in good heart but is probably about where the handicapper wants him now after his trio of wins; in touch, effort around 2f out, one paced.

PRIDE OF PRIORY fairly easy to back, wasn't disgraced after 7 weeks off, this perhaps a stepping stone with a return to Kempton in mind; waited with, progress under 3f out, not quicken final 1f.

ON TO VICTORY shaped as if better for the run after 3 months off; patiently ridden, progress on inner 2f out, carried right soon after, effort proved short-lived.

SOTO SIZZLER underperformed without usual headgear, much better when coming off a strong gallop; mid-field, effort around 2f out, not quicken, left behind soon after.

TORCELLO (IRE) in first-time tongue strap, is struggling for form at present; chased leader, effort over 3f out, carried head bit awkwardly, dropped away 2f out.
